Which one is bub in that picture? I wonder why he didn't do the track prep...I know Mike said he was during the first couple times he talked about the track, but then I heard nothing more about it.

Well, I've been reading this thread for the last couple of days now, and it was finally time to post a few things.
I was with Duke at both Classics , and he drove the car as hard as he runs his mouth, so it got driven real hard.My dad showed Duke the bright lights and big city for the first time in his life. It wasn't always easy working with him, but as a kid I learned a lot about racing. From building motors to grooving humpers and everything in between. As a teenager, working with my dad, it gave me memories to last a lifetime. As for the Hut Hundred, to bad Mike didn't stick with his original plan. Sunday afternoon would have drawn more cars and drivers. He wouldn't have had to compete with the Burg or Belleville.I just wonder if it was his idea to switch to Saturday, or another one of USAC's brilliant ideas. It seems as if when USAC wants to compete against another sactioning body, the fans lose. They need to realize they don't pull the weight they used to. It isn't 1975 anymore. |
