Totally agree. I think if you look the 2 words up in the dictionary it would be just that.

Dirt tracks you can save a seat before the gates open-Gas City,Lawrenceburg,Bloomington,Putnamville,Terre HAUTE,Haubstadt,North Vernon,Paragon,Montpelier,Kamp,Brownstown.

I say the majority of race fans like to put there seats down before the gates open.

PS If I buy a Pit pass at Kokomo I can put my seat down before the Grandstand gate opens.
I don't mind if they let you put you blankets down before the gates open. That day. Not days before or all year!
If they want to sell premium seats then do it. If they want to reserve seats for company employees that sponsor the track for the year (Attica), then fine.

Sure you can spend more money at Kokomo and put your blanky down, but who cares. I think Kokomo does it right. Same with Limaland. But again, the tracks that let you put your blankys down before the gates open but the day of the show is fine too.

Well, that sucks for a guy who drives a couple hundred miles one-way to Kokomo and finds all of the seats up high already "blanketed". Some folks who live a few blocks away drive out to the track as soon as the first gate opens, put down a multitude of blankets, and go home for the evening meal. They return just in time for the first heat, and those of us who have been out there for an hour have worse seats than Mr. Blanket.
Sorry Steve, I like you but I don't see the point. I would imagine if you had a track in your back yard you would do the same.

I am one of those people at Kokomo that kinda does that. But every other track in Indiana, guess what? Don't work out that way.

I do kind of understand what you are saying. I have went to Gas City the early morning or the evening before a big show to get some seats only to find a lot of them are gone. Now, I only live 40 minutes from the track but since they pretty much let you do this, I figured what the heck. I will give it a try. To no avail.

In addition, I put down 2 or 3 blankets depending on what friends and family is expected to be there as well as friends of mine that do live out of town. If some of them don't show up, I look for and offer any space to others I know. I think I have done that for you once or twice.

I hope you guys don't plan on eating "Harry"....who lives behind the main concession under a white trailer. Harry likes left over bread from all those hot dogs and burgers thrown down from the section "A" crowd.

On the blanket deal...I only have two requests...
~When I lock all the side gates at 3:00pm, don't yell at me because you have to walk all the way around to the front gate to get back to your car....(don't try to hide in the bathrooms either b/c at 4:30 I send in the Daves' to fume people out! )
~Park in the normal parking lot and walk in with your blankets....had a few close ones under the stands and around the curves....How would you feel if I parked a running quad right in front of your desk when you are trying to work?

That's all, otherwise, have at it!:2:

P.S. Boys, don't eat the groundhogs!....i thought Harry was my cute fat groundhog...turns out after two years Dave comes home and tells me that Harry is a girl, only fat cuz she was preggers!!! If you click your cheeks at her and yell her name, she'll come out to see what you have!

Not from me. I have nothing left over.

I'd guess that promoters don't mind early bird blankeys too much as long as butts are covering them come race time.

I think it sucks! We went to one of the indiana sprint week races this year. We got there early, and could not find seats in the grandstands for all of us(3) to set toghether. Everybody was out in the parking lot tailgating. Hardly anybody in the stands, but blankets down everywhere. We had to pay extra to get in the pit stands. Nothing like paying extra bucks to set in stands were you get covered in mud and can only see the far side of the track. We had to set on the bottom row. There was even blankets put down there. The only time people was in them was when there driver was on the track.

To me its like standing in line and then leaving. Once you leave the line you dont get it back. Its back to the end of the line for you, bud.

Hit the nail on the head there. I think this is the worst track for this. Nothing like driver 2 hours to get there a half hour after the gate opens. And cant find a seat. I have not been back since. I HOPE SOMEBODY FROM GAS CITY IS READING THIS.

With that way of thinking,if I get up to take a leak, someone can just sit where I have been setting.

I save seats. With that being said, save all the seats you wish anytime you wish however, no "saving" the top two rows at anytime.

Don't be a hater Phil.
No hate intended Dave. I can accept people saving seats. People aren't saving seats. No people are there. The blankets are saving seats. I have a problem with that. Just my opinion. Next time I'll use the word funniest, not stupid. Sorry
