I apologize for my late response as I was out of town for a couple of weeks.

I am saddened by Dwight's passing. Although I did not really know him, I could tell by his posts that he was the knowledge king of racing and was always polite and classy while still getting his point across.

He was a real gentleman and I certainly respected him for all of the above reasons.

We are worse off without him.

As with many of you here I never met Dwight, but wish I had.

We spent many nights at the same races at the now closed Islip Speedway on Long Island and as far as I can remeber we never crossed paths.

Islip was a big part of my youth and when it closed it took a big chunk of my youth with it.

We traded racing stories via message boards and PM's on those boards and Dwight brought back many great memories from my childhood, for that I am gratefull.

We were to meet at Mansfield in August but I could not make the trip this year, I wish I had.

It looks like Dwight touched many people here.

Dwight Clock has posted answers to old auto racing history questions from all over the world and was well liked by everyone.
He will be greatly missed by everyone. He knew his racing history.
Has an obituary been posted anywhere for Dwight Clock? I checked the Indianapolis Star as well as the Marion Chronicle-Tribune and found nothing.

Do you have new information on Dwight Clock's death and funeral.
# 1. Date of death? Date and location of Birth?
# 2. Location and caused of death?
# 3. Cremated?
# 4. Date of Burial? Location of Cemetery?
# 5. Got any (head shot) photos of Dwight Clock to shared with forum members and guests?
# 6. Did Dwight Clock raced any race cars and do you have any his race photos to shared with forum members and guests?

Birth date 8/17/1948 Location Bay Shore, NY. USA
#2 Location of death was in his house
Cause of death was his heart
#3 Yes, he was cremated
#4 Date of burial will be 10/10/2008 at Calverton, NY. USA at 2pm
#5 I don't have any recent pictures but will see if my brother Russ has any.

Thank you for the follow up information. I miss Dwight's input and common sense on this board. I also miss sitting and talking to him at the races. His vast knowledge of auto racing was very enlightening,and he never seemed to flaunt that knowledge. I hope his family and friends find peace and comfort in the days ahead.

Oh my God. I haven't logged on here for nearly two months and I find out that Dwight has passed !!!! How incredibly sad. I got to meet him and have breakfast with him before the USAC show at Winchester in April and I could not have shared breakfast with a more outstanding citizen of the racing community.

We talked about our shared past with mutual roots on Long Island and frequent stops at Reading Fairgrounds back in the day. I came to respect him as a man of great knowledge and honor in this sport and he will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
