In the heat of the moment on nights like this you take everything a little more personally. If you ask a lot of people that are behind the scenes, Ballou is not a big favorite of some. If anything he is considered to be a hot head that can dish it out on the track, but not take it. I can see Robert's side of the story, but he has driven people the same way and has gotten away with it.

Got a call from Indiana this AM - seems Damien pushed Ballou all the way around to his pit area and then turned him- when Robert got out of the car a few of the Demon's crew jumped Robert. I understood 4 or 5 on 1. They got Robert to the ground in a few second and that is when a VERY large truck of a man jumped in and began tossing Demon's crew like pencils. Apparently this guy weighs in near 300lbs, (ripped and pumped like a brick house) and decided that 4 or 5 on 1 were odds to his liking. I understood that he removed Ballou from the mess and encouraged the gentlemen from the 71 crew to have a go with him if they were interested. They thought better and retreated to safety. No word on what USAC thought of it but I am told they are aware. I did not hear about a girl getting punched - take it all with a grain of salt as I am hearing it from someone that was there but second hand is never accurate.

Kinda what I was told by several individuals,if in fact this is what happened,that Gardner/Pace Electronics outfit needs to go back where they came from,the left coast and south of there.JMO.

began tossing them like pencils? haha thats awesome. whoever ended up in the 13 car in feature sure was making some progress until they went out. pretty quick.

So does anybody know who drove the #13 car for the main i have heard two different stories, one that they saw Ballou strap in for the main, and another story i was told that Ballou got fired from his ride after the B-main and Bland Jr was put in the car for the feature.

robert was sitting on the tire in his suit after the amain signing autographs talked to us for awhile good kid was very respectfull to my boys talked about his days in quarter midgets ..

regardless of what happened after the B still had time for the fans. so i would say he drove it in the A

The nicest driver we talked to was Hud Cone HUGE thumbs up to him very nice talked to my boys like he had knew them forever very nice guy!! Plus has one of the best signatures!! Thanks HUD

good show to bad they tore up alot of cars early,, still made for a great main.
