Great run Hud! It looked like he was the only guy still running the top at the end of the race and it paid off. When the isw gets to Haubstadt where the fastest line around the track is the top hopefully Hud can show what he is really made of.

I did not see it, but I will say that Demons Crew Chief is a class act. Don't know the other guys but I will say in their defense that they busted their asses tonight to get in and the racing contact was just hard racing. In the heat of the moment on nights like this you take everything a little more personally. If you ask a lot of people that are behind the scenes, Ballou is not a big favorite of some. If anything he is considered to be a hot head that can dish it out on the track, but not take it. I can see Robert's side of the story, but he has driven people the same way and has gotten away with it.

I am not sure this was a racing deal, Kaplan was running a quarter mile and Faas was on a half mile. Watch the video and you will see there was no way in hell Faas was going to make it around one without hitting something, (awesome run down the front strech) we are in no way upset with Nick as he was going after the transfer just like the rest of us. We have a broken race car but we still have Josh and a little luck as Ryan's nerf bar took the paint off the top of Josh's helmet. You can say one thing about the racing so far and that is it is as intense as I have seen in a long time. Josh is a little sore and he did not even take the ride the other two drivers took, with a couple days to heal hopefully the rest of the tour will be a little less crazy as it has been for some of the drivers.

I have never understood why USAC makes such a point of mentioning the flips in every race report, but aren't they missing at least a couple here? Don't I recall seeing Kaplan rather high in the air, while Fass was getting a close look at the surface?

Glad Josh was okay. My first thought was the possibility of fuel leaking down on him.
Strange coincidence that Mike Spencer also had a car land on him.

I feel bad for the Spencer team as they had terrible luck getting caught up in messes at Gas City and Kokomo. Hopefully the second leg of Sprintweek is better than the first.
