The new Gold Crown car would really appeal to me IF they were replacing the current IRL cars with it. Otherwise, I am on the fence as to if I really like it or not.
Regardless of what the car looks like, I do believe that USAC has done themselves a disservice by confusing everyone by first changing the cars into a tug boat, and now changing the cars and the name of the series. Not all of the fans who enjoyed watching the crown cars race frequent these message boards to know of the changes in the series.
Would sticking some Nascar drivers in the seats of these new cars make me come out to watch, probably not...but if a Dave Darland, Cole Whitt, Hunter, Stanbrough were in the seat, then I certainly would check out a show. I could only hope that some of the better drivers will get opportunities in these cars, not just drivers with money.

Ok Superduke it is a given that in your day Sprint cars, Midgets, and the Big cars ruled and those days are gone but everything runs in a cycle INDY CARS took over midgets and sprints then Nascar took over INDY CARS and now NASCAR is having a hard time filling seats why is that ? The same thing that killed INDY CARS cost it cost to much to field a car you were cut down to a few super teams just like you are seeing in NASCAR today. Fans get tired of seeing the same old thing, same guys winning all the time. People tend to root for the underdog but with the way things are set up the underdog has no chance in hell of competing unless he is attached to a super team. Race fans are leaving NASCAR because they have seen the same thing week in and week out and they are looking for something new. That is where the Goldcrown div comes in good racing, top notch race tracks and drivers that come out of our own back yard. I think Dick Jordan does a good job with what he is given to work with I personally think he is sent into a street fight with one hand tied behind his back. I can also understand why you feel so negative about this hole subject you have seen the sport that you put a lot of your sole into over the years fall flat on its face. It's gone from #1 to the bottom of the ******* in your life time. I am only a very small piece of the puzzle but I am going to do everything I can do to help put the sport that I truly enjoy headed back to the top. And the way I see that happening is through the Goldcrown div. If you want to see some of open wheels greatest supporters you need to look at the guys who have invested in the Goldcrown cars we all did so trying to better the sport and because we believed in the cause.
