From what I understand it was brought up a few times before the races and nothing was done. Why didn't USAC follow up and inpsect the cars ??.........they have the responsibilitty to insure rule compliance and there were more than 2 cars with the weight bolted up front. Now for the kicker........guys have been running front axles with lead inside, lead in side the front frame rail, torsion bars filled with lead, steel front arms and stops. most chassis builders offer the tabs up front to bolt the weight to......where does it stop ?
It is not my job to determine punishments but it has been my experience that racers work around the rules one way or another. During the Eastern Storm were there any motors pumped to make sure the winners were legal ???? Are there pre race inspections to look for violations........isn't the time to find this before the cars are on the track ?
So you have basically condoned cheating and knowing full right well it’s cheating you blame the sanction. I’m ok with the assessment that Usac didn’t do anything about it and that is their issue. Unfortunately you didn’t explain that when JG was asked if he wanted to protest then after the race he declined.I have my own theory about why that happened (Florida 2022) You also didn’t mention that tech did do its job and then were overruled.
What’s most concerning to me is that you have always been a straight shooter and level minded with your posts. Today you decide to preach that I’m good with our team blatantly breaking the rule which is black and white. It’s up to Usac to tell me I’m illegal. I’m sorry Gene I’ve lost total respect for you and all of what I thought you stood for. If this is what the series has turned into then reevaluating my decision to support it may be what I have to do. A sad day when someone of your caliber comes out with a statement like this. Sad sad sad.

Really? Pointing out that everyone's doing something and it's not being enforced is bad?

The photo of Bacon looks to be taken at Williams Grove while the sun is out. Maybe during qualifying? If that’s the case shouldn’t he have been disqualified going across the scales? It’s not like it’s hidden.
Ignorance to the rule is no excuse, but is selectively enforcing an excuse?

But they don't scale before the podium ceremonies......
