Apparently I don't know what a good time is. I was at a baseball game tonight, and I was at the Midget Week race last Saturday at Lawrenceburg. I enjoyed the hell out of both nights, just as I did Midget Week at Bloomington the night before. Both Friday & Saturday last weekend I was home after 2:00 am the next mornings. Tonight's Louisville Bats game (AAA affiliate to the Reds, if anybody cares, which they probably don't) lasted 3.5 hours from the first pitch to the final out, without the Reds having to bat in the bottom of the 9th. It happens; you're not watching entertainment such as movies and television with set start and end times; we all know going in that a million different variables exist which can alter the length of the programs we attend. Was the modified feature long? Yes. Was the midget race still worth going to see? Hell yes.
When I and a female friend who had never been to a dirt race (or maybe any race) left Lawrenceburg, we were talking about Alex Bright's drive, how it would have been great to see him win, about his B & A main drives at Bloomington, etc., after a very little grumbling about an overly long modified feature. If you left only thinking about the mods, that's on you, not anyone else.
