Great racing, great friends, cold Pepsi, pocketfull of 50/50 losers from Cherie.......how good can it get??? :2:
Fish, I missed the get together, too, and I was 25ft from where it was supposed to be all night!! They had some good looking ribs on the grill over at BigBudman's site and I commented on them but, they weren't sharing. Dave had a couple of picnic tables setting there but I didn't see anyone using them.

Oh, and about the racing......let me join the others here in congratulating Jerry Coons, Jr. and the entire Hoffman team on their super run and popular win.

A couple of other guys I'd like to mention. It was good to see Kevin Studley compete for what I believe to be the first time at the "new" 'Burg. He said looking into the sun down the backstretch was a challenge in his heat, but he was having more fun than he does at his "day job". Glad he made the feature and hope he left with a few bucks to the good.

You won't find a nicer bunch than the Whited's from Richmond. Both Brian (Dad) and Brandon (driver) took lots of time to reacquaint with us. Was hoping Brandon could put the low budget #31 in the show and he was sooooo close until getting collected by a sideways Joss Moffatt in the #2C. The resulting flips and gyrations took our breath and we were greatly relieved to see Brandon climb out, apparently O.K.

Also hated to see Fitzpatrick out of it before he even had a chance to get in it. Flip didn't look too bad, but plenty bad enough to put them back in the hauler for the long drive back to Terre Haute. As others have posted here, this young man has arrived and keeps getting better.

Best of all, was the excellent night had by the #98 Chad Boespflug team. Bob Gatten had been telling us of chasing engine gremlins with lots of bucks but little success for the past few weeks. Last night it looked like they are close. First heat (won by Chad) duel with Coons, Jr. might have been the best heat race I've seen this season at the 'Burg. And a 12th place feature finish in that star studded field has to be a confidence builder.

marv, the only thing you did wrong last night was when you went over to the back stretch to check things out. then you proceded to move over to where cecil98 and that crew were. wow what a mistake...i'm suprised you were in the right state of mind when i saw you. they are a very very corrupt bunch. there are of couple of other posters that hang with him like the imfamous "sprintcar". oh yea, the raceing was great and so was the track. was suprised to see 3 and 4 up to the wall. as marv would say "must be off".

Marv, I wish I could have got out to meet you when you came by the Whited Racing trailer, but I think that was the same time I was meeting Chaplain Jackie. I know it's been said a thousand times, but you really do meet the nicest people at the race track.

I had always heard that cecil98 was a "man of the cloth". Turns out that they were talking about sheets and bedspreads.

Fish, sorry if we gave the wrong impression, we did not mean too just probably had too many beers in us. I did see you walk up and then you were not there, sorry for the confusion! We will have to have another meet and greet during the 2 big 10,000 to win shows in a couple of weeks at the burg. I promise I will be a little more with it. Yes I was running the grill and was right at that point too take the ribs off so I didnt want to screw them up after 3hrs on the grill. I was good to meet the people that did show up for awhile that I did not know. We missed our host but he looked pretty damn busy puttin on a awesome race for everyone. Also we should probably do it a little earlier because once they pushed the cars off, we all broke off to watch.

I had a BLAST!
The racing was excellent and the party was...........

Got to put lots of faces with names for the first time.
I won't begin to try and list everyone, because I know I would miss somebody.
But really was a great time and look forward to the next big one at the Burg!
See ya'll there.

PS, for the last time I am NOT Dyno Don's twin brother! :2:
