Point is, you knew the time logistics when you drove all the way from your home, which is apparently quite a ways away, to Kokomo on a work night. Either think about these things beforehand, or don't ***** afterwards. Simple concept.
So that extra 3 bucks I paid at the gate was to pay for their fireworks? Nice. I have to say, the other two tracks we were at that weekend didn't raise their gate to pay for the fireworks display. Why would Kokomo need to? You'd think they'd be making enough money with the ridiculous prices they charge in the concession lines. A dollar for a candy bar? I can get 3 for a buck at the store. A dollar for a can of pop? It's 55 cents at the vending machine. Two dollars for a PowerAde? A case is only 17 bucks at Sam's.
Incidentally, both those other tracks saved their displays for after the racing was over, giving fans the choice of whether to stay or not.
The racing was great at Kokomo, even in the other classes they ran. The program was running so smoothly and so quickly that it just seemed a shame to waste time waiting for it to get dark. You tell me not to ***** if I knew going in that there would be fireworks. How about the track knowing that it gets dark later now due to the time change? What was to prevent them from starting their program an hour later to compensate for that? Your whole "simple concept" works both ways.
