First off I want to say we are all thinking about Swanson family. Hope for the best. Another downside to the night was for a second year in a row this race drew a slim fan count. This would make me worry about the Huts future at TSS. Only time will tell but I for one love to see midgets at Haubstadt. The racing couldn't get better. Slide job city all over the place. Lead changes happened left and right. Only thing left to say is I can't wait until next Sunday to see the MSCS back at Haubstadt.

Fan count wasnt great but it wasnt that bad either.

The reserve section was pretty full. Its the regular fans that are still slow to come back to the track. Its been like that for over a year. The only race that drew lots of fans was Sprint Week.

BTW, I didnt go to last years or this years WoO shows so I have no idea how they were.

Crowd was much larger last year, but the race was run two weekends earlier (May 8th) and there were not as many other events going on at the same time to draw away from the event. Also, not having a POWRi co-sanction may have cost a few fans.
I hope they return to the earlier date next year.

Only 16 mods probably hurt the fan count, we went to the Powri race and they had 40 something micros plus seen a couple of midgets sitting in or beside trailers due to the guys that run both. Looking around the pits last night at the micro drivers that due double duty and the true blue Powri regulars like Loyet and King I estimate really only about a 10 car loss to the Hut. Just my observation though.

My take on the Hut 100............Prayers go out to the Swanson family........... A tough night for them........... Track was perfect as always..........Crowd was a break even crowd only, for the Helfrichs.........Weather was perfect..........Shows that you cannot listen at all to weather forecasters...........quality cars and started 33 cars..........USAC needs to not count yellow flag laps after 40 laps!!.............Fantastic racing with slide jobs back and forth all night.........I give credit to Hagen for going for iot on the last corner, only to fail...........Well worth my admission ticket price........Thanks to the Helfrichs for only running 2 classes............

First off congrats to The Dauminator on another big win! I was pretty happy when I heard he won his Chili Bowl prelim night last year and I'm happy for him again. I decided to skip the race this year. The main reason was the amount of yellow flag laps I saw last year. Clauson and Kuhn had their little battle late in the race but there really wasn't that many green flag laps ran and that turned me off a bit. It wasn't the race I thought it should have been. At least half of the race imo should be run under green. I was also dissed when Powri dropped their co-sanction as well. Anyways I'm looking forward to Midget Week when I'll see these guys and a few more race.

Thoughts and prayers to the Swanson family. Get well Kody.

The only problem I had with the race was the caution laps as well. After a very simple spin for one car it took from lap 9 to 21 to get green racing again. Then, shortly after, there was another caution for almost 10 more laps for another one car accident. It wasnt Tristate taking their time either. On the first wreck, they literally "set" the field for 7 laps.

Then, the racers themselves were acting strange. Instead of just driving straight and getting pushed off, some would turn and go in the right direction only to turn too sharp for the push truck to continue pushing them. It happened quite a few times.

..in my point of view, Zach was pretty much running the middle, while everyone else in the top 4-5 were up top, and he had a VERY legitiment win. Started 3rd and ran with the big dogs all 327 laps long...
Great job for a POWRi/SLQMRA grad......

Wondered at times if MSCS wasn't running this show...
Don't wanna get in to the whole helicopter snafu....

Best wishes for Kody and family

I'd have to agree with pretty much this whole post. I'd like to know what percentage of the first 50 laps of last year's HUT 100 counted under yellow.

As for the sanction deal, I decided to support POWRi and go to the micro show Saturday at Wayne City. As much as I love watching racing at Tri State, I don't regret my decision, as I saw a heck of a show.

Finally, congrats to Zach on the big win.
