Jerry,

There were two separate accidents that sent 60 kids to the area hospitals today locally. The accident you were speaking of involved a Frankton-Lapel School Corporation bus with approximately 60 kids on board. It flipped over on its side after impact and they had to rescue a number of kids on the bus. 50 kids were taken to three different hospitals from this one.

Around the same time an Anderson Community School bus was involved in an accident at a school parking lot about 1/2 mile from my house. They ended up sending about 10 kids to the hospital from that one. Most of the injured from both accidents were treated and released while 4 or 5 others are still hospitalized. It was reported that they were non life threating injuries.

The road conditions especially in the county are hazardous at best. A reminder to all to slow down and take your time. Madison County and Anderson do not salt most of the roadways so please drive carefully.

Mike

Be nice to people on the way up. You might need them on the way down. Jimmy Durante
