Learned today Davey Hamilton will be piloting the Jim Paternoster USAC Silver Crown Car at the 6/26&27 Richmond, Va. and 8/5&6 Oswego, N. Y. races; possibly more races will be run if additional funding is secured. Go Davey!

A couple weeks ago I was very fortunate to visit, someone and see a lot of history.
A huge part of what both Indy and USAC are missing is the connection of the short track and the speedway racing, Indy grew because these guys that traversed the country in front of many smaller crowds became familiar and carried that crowd base to Indy Car. Short track racing grew because they knew Several Indy Car drivers would be at the Hoosier Hundred, Terre ect.
I don't know how to fix it. There simply isn't enough money in most short track teams to draw the recognition they deserve or to move to the next level anymore. Many of the long time owners have passed are aging. Not trying to sound negative. The racings still pretty good. Indy's working toward full fields but the economy is keeping sponsorship very, very hard to find.
