If i were you i would go to Lps. Why watch and huggy pole dry slick rubber down two features at paragon. At lps there is at least going to be a big ole kooshin and lots of sliders. And you guys are going to say that i am bias. ya so. i get to race with Dickie, Shane H, Shu. Not bad comp. for a sat. nite

I'm never disappointed when I drive down for a Saturday night show at Putnamville. They'll have a better quality field of cars than Paragon too.

You would likely have a fun time at any of these choices

I’m from Champaign, IL so I WILL be making it to vermilion county speedway a lot this year. Short drive for us, coolers allowed and sprint cars!!

Gotta agree with Mr. Sullivan here. Good hard Saturday night racin' at both tracks.
A couple of other thoughts (JMO): I think P'ville is the best place to watch a race (if they cut the weeds), but at both tracks you can take a lawn chair and sit between the rows. You really need a chair at Paragon unless you sit in the bleachers or can balance yourself on a broken and/or warped board. You can take a cooler at both but no alcohol at P'ville. They sell beer. Of course, no glass at either. Can't speak to the track food at either. Restrooms: passable at Paragon, really bad at P'ville. Plenty of parking at both. Make sure you have a good low gear if you go to P'ville. Hill climbing experience is helpful. Paragon: park on the flat and walk up a hill to the track. P'ville: drive up the hill and walk on the flat into the track. At Paragon you'll be looking directly into the sun (assuming its not cloudy) until it goes over the hill. Sun is behind you at P'ville, unless you are in the pit bleachers. PA is pretty iffy at P'ville, not bad at Paragon. P'ville was $10 last year, Paragon was $12. I hear P'ville will be $13 this year. Regular show winner at P'ville will probably be between Puterbaugh Jr, Gaines, and Shuman if all are present but it's fun watching the others try. Paragon's winners can come from anywhere. Many people have issues with the P'ville owner and rightly so, but don't let that keep you from seeing some good racin'. I think the action moves quicker at Paragon. You need to be ready to race or you'll be left in the pits. P'ville is subject to some down time. No quals at either. When the weather if iffy it seems to me that P'ville pulls the plug early and Paragon makes a real attempt to run. Get track phone numbers from their websites. Anyway, whichever you choose I hope you enjoy. I always do.

Al, thanks for such a thoughtful, informative response. That is a great analysis which gives us all the information I can imagine any fan needs. Great job!!!

Well I can speak from experience from the drivers seat, cars at LPS are of a much more higher quality. I am as probably low budget as you can get. I'm talking a street stock motor with and injection system. I am pretty much a moving speed bump and LPS. I can actually mix it up a small amount with some of the other back dwellers at Paragon. I like both of the tracks they are both fun to drive but the racing is much better at LPS. I know individuals hate and I mean hate the owner of LPS. But every time I have taken the car to LPS someone from the track has always come up and talked and made myself and my father feel welcome and that doesnt happen at Paragon...they are only worried about if you paid your pit pass or not. One other thing before I hop down from the soap box the track at LPS is always very tacky, lots and lots of grip when makes better racing in all of the classes not just sprints. And I know this sounds crazy for someone who races to say this but its awsome to say I have had the opportunity to be on the track with guys like Shuman, Dickie Gaines, Peuterbaugh the Carmichaels, etc. Its always fun to pull a tear off when the pepper me with mud while I'm being lapped....lol

10-4 on not spending $ at a d.a. Track. Would drive 100 miles than spend $ at a d.a. Track.
