Speedwrench, are you saying that Stapp built just two dirt cars period? If so, I have to disagree because we have a Stapp-built dirt car from the early 90's that is four bar.

The car is awesome looking sitting still. I'd of loved to seen it run live. I might have but can't remember.
No Bopper said the car Don Smith has the Terre Haute Car is a Grant King Car, Galles was the mechanic and Bettenhausen drove it.

Bopper actually had a blue frame, Orange body car that Pancho ran at Terre Haute, but that one went out over the wall and was no more. I see that the one you were thinking of is really the blue Jorgenson #4 car, though. If you do a Micro rendition please post it or send me an email, We would love to see it. If you have questions or need advice let us know I can ask dad for you!

I just asked the Bopper and "back in the day" he built 12 champ dirt cars, sprints were his specialty. Out of the 12 there wer spring fronts and 4 bar cars and a spring front that later got converted to a bar car. It's handy having the man to ask close by so I can ask!

Modernday if you can call the 80-90's modern, he built at least 5 champ cars that I can remember, with out asking him. I think the man in Crawfordsville has the old Doc Black car which was one of Steve's personal cars before selling it to Black.

I know the man had some really good looking primer grey race cars in the day. I know this because I was the one who used to put the numbers on with shoe polish!
But to his defense, he has had some really good looking race cars too! Just to prove it, here is his newest creation, the Diabetes Challenge Two Seater sprint car. This is his first of 5 and I think this is quite a good looking car! Hopefully you will too.

I believe the 2 orange and white Terre Haute FNB cars that Chuck has posted are Grant King Champ Cars, owned by Tim Delrose and Dale Holt. Thus the rose on the hood and the D in the bumper. They campaigned the popular #12 for Gary B. for several years, and a few shows they also ran a twin #14. Delrose and Holt cars were wrenched by Robert Galas from O'Fallon, IL. Robert now owns/runs the #12 Champ Car that everyone thinks is so old.

I stand corrected. Based to this and some of the other posts, there were more than two Stapp champ dirt cars - I was just unaware of the others.

Thanks for getting me straightened out.

I must say that is a pretty good looking car.But yes as far as the micro goes I was planning on posting pictures as I go along.I dont know how much Ill even race it or if I even will but I think it would be cool to bring some of the past back.I drive my dad's car now so maybe Ill just build it to be taken around and put on display.

So I am correct to say that the rose on the front is for Tim Delrose?Just trying to get everything straight.Because if Im going to do my micro in this scheme Im going to do it like it was and I want to be able to explain everything.
