These cars should be running on a lot of dirt half miles they put on a great show and Jerry maybe you could give the promoters there in Terre Haute a swift kick in the azz for not running them there this year.

Remember the NASCAR driver at Texas that barrell rolled at Texas last year. We his oil line blew at California and it was an impressive fire. He made it out without a scratch and thanked Sparco for making a good suit. I posted some photos in Open Wheeler.

Good race tonight. Thanks for the updates since I got in late and couldent get into the video feed and timing and scoring just cant tell the same story a voice and video can. I am shure that it was a good show and Dean and Klepper did a great job again like they did the night before.

A couple of comments about Manzy tonight. First, Coons was just great in the midgets. I almost wish he had to start every race at Manzy in the back. I believe that 5 more laps would have given him a win. Second, Stanbrough didn't just catch fire. It wasn't like a little flame. The whole car was in flames, with Jon sitting in it. After what seemed like an eternity, he started getting out. Good thing, since the track officials seemed to me to be a little bit slow. Kevin Miller was about the first on the scene with an extinguisher. The fire was out, things were settling down, and suddenly Shane Cottle was jumping over the wall and running for the pits. It appears that Stanbrough told him he needed tear offs because he was going to get back in the "medium well done" car. I could be wrong, but that is sure what it looked like. He got back in, pushed off, and started passing cars again. Amazing, just amazing. I have been fortunate to see him do many things in the past three years, but this just astonished me. And, of course, Dave Darland was Dave Darland in the sprint race. We are so lucky to be able to watch these guys week after week, along with all the others driving the Indiana tracks.

One last note. For heaven's sake, someone come up with a good midget ride for Darland for the next two shows.

I agree Frank. If there were 280 midgets at the Chili Bowl, surely someone would love to have Dave Darland pilot one of them in the next couple of races. There were a lot of west coast midgets at the Bowl. About Stanbrough, thank God he was OK. I don't know what caught fire, but those were some huge flames. It looked like it started at the rear of the car, but I would think the methanol would burn clear/blue unless they put an additive in it for the flames to show.

What I heard was they overfilled the fuel tank on Stanbrough's car and the funnel was full of fuel, so when they pulled the funnel out, the fuel spilled and ignited. It sure was shocking to see on the video feed! If you missed it, I have a feeling it'll be on the SPEED Report this evening!

Has Hockett run with the Silver Crown cars in the past, or is this his first year?
