We are seriously considering making the drive to Arizona from Socal for the USAC opener. One of our concerns is if Hunter S. will be there for the opener.

If I were you I would load up the Camry and head to Manzanita.

i would load up the family truckster and head west like good 'ol clark griswald did on his way to wally world. Hunter will be there in the guiducci owned sprint car.

Just received a call from Manzanita Speedway office,that front Gate will be open'n earlier (FRI) than orig. posted(4:00)....Now at 2:00 or 2:30,just to make sure I got time covered rite!!.......

Brucer, I got the same phone call, she told me front gate will open at 2:30 on Fri. and 3:00 on Sat.. The info I saw for the open practice on Thurs. had the front gate opening at 1:00, admittance to the grandstands is free on Thurs. and open to the public. I have seen two different times posted for practice 5-9 and 6-10, take your pick. The temperatures in Phoenix are predicted to be in the mid 60's next week until Thurs. when the high should be 71, night time temperatures are in the 40's. Our temperatures have been about 10 degrees cooler than normal for about a week and a half now.
