I was in Anderson today and herd a couple people talking about a new dirt track. They said it was going to be built on the old GM plant area that was tore down. And that Tony Stewert had bought the prop. last summer.

Someone told me that back in summer. Didn't really think about it much because of all the tracks that he's supposedly buying.

Heard the same rumor. But heard it was going to be on the opposite side of the street from Anderson Speedway where Guide was.Dont much believe it.First you couldnt have two tracks that close together running against one another which they would half to do because Anderson runs Friday and Saturday. Two,I dont think there is any way possible to get the city board to ok a dirt track in city limits.Would be to many people complaining about dust and a curfew. But who knows,I heard this about 4-5 months ago but didnt think much of it.Still really dont but since you mentioned it.

I heard that Tony Stewart has bought X-Plex and he is relocating the entire facility to the RV lots across from IMS

Maybe GM owed him a bunch of money and said here take this instead. Don't mind the PCB's, they'll go away in about 100 years.

The rumor here has been that the City of Anderson was going to sell the property to Tony Stewart for a dirt track and other racing related businesses. Unfortunately, at this point in time the City of Anderson doesn't own this property. The clean up is still under way and I doubt that it will be completed in short order. With GM's financial woes, it might not get to that point. It might be used to pay off some of their bills.:O:
I think that I can safely say that I won't see this happen in my lifetime. I believe that this is about 300 tracks that Tony is rumored to be buying, building, leasing or otherwise involved in ownership.:kookoo Now, let's get back to reality and see about getting rid of this snow.:headbang
