Ok, for anyone that thinks the swindell car looks odd, swing by and check out the f1 of french grimes. (If you're not there, I'm sure pictures will show up shortly. This thing is the oddest looking car I've ever seen, and is gathering a lot of looks when they were unloading it this morning.

Guess what 70% of the tail tanks at next years bowl will look like. And probably many more at bullrings this coming up year if sanctioning bodies do not ban them.

this is about 26.26 gallons, so i would say the tank is about 28 gallons which is a standard size for a midget fuel tanks.

Happy new year. Am i right/close?

that 55 car was cool , correct me if i am worong , it was a cheater tank full size fuel tank and bladder however fuel only went in left side and left side only 'pavement deal' same as sammy, the deal with sammy's car he only did it to shorten the fuel cell distance shorter rear bumber 'think about it' move's weight toward center of car, but shorter rear bumber keeps guys from spining you out all night . fits sammy's driving style , 'maybe a mind thing but thats sammy deal i would bet

The tool box tail tank is just another example of the vicious cycle that continues in midget racing. One does it, the sanctioning bodies, who only care about the cash register, do nothing about it and the owners are once again cornered into buying more unnecessary junk. What's the point of this if eventually everyone has one... and BTW it's pure and simple ugly IMO. Let's keep midget tail tanks functioning and looking like we have known them.

I have a question. We always want to talk about innovation in racing and seeing people thinking outside the box. When someone does (Bondio's motorcycle wheel and now this tank) it's scrutized an talk of banning it comes up.

I doubt it goes into full production anyway. The Chili Bowl has minimal rules. Besides to make it large enough for practical outdoor racing it needs to be enlaged and to keep the weight over the axle ithe tank can only be made taller which isn't practical because the higher tank will make the COG higher and prove a handful to drive if drivable at all, right?

Well, this whole thing is all about "reducing the polar moment of inertia". Purty simple, really:idea:.........:wink
