My dad bought that car off of Engle, later sold it to Paul Fortney, then it went to some guy in Anderson after that. When we aquired the car, it was pretty cobbled up.

Home town is Columbus, In. Red Amick was my "favorite", Roy Prosser showed up one night at Columbus, In, with I believe, a Chrysler products OHV V8. Crocket drove a flatdead Ford 6 cyl, owned by Dan Walls, where I "grew up", in his shop. That was one bad "half dozen". I rode in the woods, with Larriet, he had his left leg broken, and was riding a WWll 45cu in Harley, and when we'd come to a hill, where he couldn't use the foot brake, he'd just slide off, and let the ole Harley go, and he'd slide down behind it. Lots a good memories from those days, we weren't able to follow them on the summer circuit, Columbus, and Franklin were about the extent of it. Bob

My Dad spoke of Red Amick alot while I was growing up. Everytime we went to Indy, for any reason, we would stop at the truck stop, just before getting on I-69.
Found a cool photo of him on the IMS website. Is he still living?

If you Google, Mutual Racing Association, you'll find photos and articles about the "Roaring Roadsters". The "Roaring Roadsters" were the first race cars I can remember watching as a little boy at Sun Valley(Anderson Speedway), Winchester, and Mt. Lawn. The old news articles are interesting.
