Is the turf at the new stadium sectional or is it a roll? If it's a roll, it can be rolled up fairly quickly and they could race on the floor. But that's not dirt and I guess you guys would rather see no race than a pavement race.

Whatever the distance, it needs to stay the same Team Indiana vs. Team USA format. That was great. But no rumble, please. Keep Tony Barhorst away from it as far as possible.

And the stands and the barricades? Did they disappear too? I mean really disappear, not just vanish after your tenth beer.

Not trying to be rude but you say one thing and then say this. Id rather see no race than a Barnhorst race...........................

Yeah he was wrong for what he said at Liberty but he was hit very hard and had the rug pulled out from under him. The man does exactly what a promotor should do and promotes well. If I didn't get five flyers and heard a dozen comercials for both is Kamp and Liberty race. Im surely crazy. He also brings in a celeb to get new people to the tracks. Something this sport sorely needs. Surely many won't return but at least enough will come back to replace those leaving the sport for whatever reasons.

What other promoters do that now?

I remember when they had a dirt race in the Houston Astrodome. I believe it was in the late 60's. Foyt ran in it but I can't remember if he won it. Any oldtimers out there remember?

I was at Lucas Oil for the IU game a couple of weeks back. My first thought when I was looking around was that an indoor race would be great in the stadium. It being a dirt race would make it even better. It sure looks like a place where the set up of a track would work well for fans. Whether they use the whole stadium or just one end zone like the basketball set up was. Sprint cars could easily run if the whole stadium floor is used. Keys would be:

Could it profitable given the cost to set it up? If not, won't happen. I think it would be well attended, but would enough people show to offset the cost?

If dirt, would the Colts sign off on "their" new stadium having dirt hauled in? The stadium is supposed to be a city facility, but let's not kid ourselves. It's the Colts stadium first and nothing is going to happen without their signoff.

Who would take on the gamble? If the weather was terrible, it could be a disaster.

I'd sure like to see it, but I don't know if it could work with all the factors that go into it.

let it go:headbang, I still support Tony, and because of that night I will make the 5hour drive this saturday to support him even more. The old RCA dome was $330,000 to rent for 1 day. Wouldn't surprise me if this new stadium is over 500. So lets face it open wheel racing is not popular enough to pull this off. at the old rate it would take 16,500 fans @ $20 per head just to cover this. break out the check books. My facts are right on this one, i have the quote from 2006 setting right here on my desk.

Well the Stands would not need to be removed at Lucas.. And barricades are a one day deal.. I dont know about the dirt.. And the 16,500 seats that would need to be filled.. Well they have the seating.. But dont forget concession stand sales.. Plus companys paying to have their advertisement shown... I think its possible.. It would be a stretch but not Impossible.. Hell even 25 dollars a ticket.. What does chili bowl tickets go for a piece?
