The kid is awesome. So much talent it's ridiculous....hard to believe a big money/market team (TSR/KKR,etc) hasn't persued him, could you imagine???? Great job in sweeping the 360's and not far from sweeping every race all weekend. Bulldog was definitely a bit bullish tonight, and yeah, maybe Jess shoulda put a RR in Kevin's grill a few times but he's not like that. Even though Oval Nats may appear to prove differently, Jesse has as much class as anyone else and knows that "what goes around, comes around". As much as he hates to lose, he'd rather win fairly, or lose fairly, then to ever have a rep as a dirty and dangerous driver. No doubt at times (okay, maybe most of the times) he lives on the edge of "stupid fast" and "scary dangerous" but rarely will he do something that he knows will take out another driver.

Again, great job Jesse! Can't say enough about the kid and can't wait to read the Dec issue of Flat Out. Perfect timing, and what a perfect cover page title: "Any Night, Any Track, Any Car! Jesse Hockett"

Way to go Cuz!

Kahne hired Jesse in 2005 to run some races in his #9 winged sprinter and his Silver Crown car. Didn't really do much in the sprinter. Saw him run the big car at Terre Haute. Put on a good drive that night to finish 4th. Jesse was then replaced by Jeff Shepard in the sprinter. I don't think that particular car was really that great (nothing compared to the cars that Saldana drives) cause Jeff didn't do much in it either.

Yeah, right....that was a joke. KKR was basically just using Jesse to get thier own **** and team figured out. They'd hardly listen to Jesse and Daniel or let them do any set up work at all. Once KKR got thier pieces aligned how they saw fit, that relationship was basically over.
Thats whats different with Jesse....he's one of the few that actually knows what in the hell a wrench is, and what turns will do what to a race car. Unlike a lot of these spoiled punks these days that are just havin fun spending mom and dads money dickin around....and other guys just show up, get in the car, then go home with thier suit and helmet in a bag. Since Jesse was 10 years he's always had a wrench and done/learned things himself. For years he's been the driver, crew chief, driver of the hauler, etc. Not saying no one else does it too, just pointing out that he's one of the few and it's worth a head nod of appreciation.
