Arin, I hope you get to feeling better. I know how bad and scary it is to be in the hospital . I hope your conditions improve and you make a full recovery.

Arin and family,

I understand that your family is reading these emails to you - so this is for you. Right after you started racing at Bloomington I was announcing a race at Salem with my friend Johnny Henderson who asked how you were doing - and I said real well for a rookie. He told me that you were a fierce athlete - in fact, he told me, with emphasis, "she is tough". That was soon very obvious. This is the reserve strength you need to draw upon now - and later. As a racer you have so often "lived in the moment" - you need to focus hard now too. And when you begin your road back, it won't be easy. It is, however, a journey you are prepared for more than most. You do not have to go it alone - the many people you have touched - all of the young women and men you have inspired, are all behind you and prepared to offer the tangible and emotional support you need. We are all with you.

I had the pleasure to meet Arin last year.
I was impressed by her wit and enthusiasm.
Joyce and I will keep her in our prayers and have requested to put her on
a prayer chain among our friends.
