Speaking of the infield, it was packed. There was a kid with a mo hawk playing football with abotu 5 other kids.

Also, I want to know, was I wrong to think that the modifieds did all the ruts? I hadn't seen ruts and holes appear that fast during the other races. But I want to say that they tried to get them fixed fast though. If my foot wasn't hurting (had two blisters the size of quarters {one one each foot}) I would have stayed for the whole race.

" Ya can't f*ck up if ya just stand there and do nothing"

David, in this instance I disagree with you. Doing nothing at all is the biggest screw up possible. Doing nothing would have made the Terre Haute Action Track something you read about in history books. Put forth the effort, make mistakes, learn from them and don't repeat them. Repeating the mistakes will turn the track into a place we only remember.

By the way, Don Smith promoted the Action Track from at least as early as the 1960s and gave it up in the early 1980s. The late 1960s and 1970s were the hayday that created much of the reputation the faclity enjoys today. That was the era for Foyt, Andretti, the Unsers, Rutherford, Bettenhausen, Dickson, Beale, Carter, Bigelow, Opperman and others too numerous to mention.

Oh yeah, and some guy named Hurtubise who won five or six sprint races straight. I don't think that feat's ever been matched.

Just give them 1 chance in helll . Which is better 1 bad race or closing and losing another dirt track.

Item 1.
The more replies the better rank you get! The whole object of this forum here is how you rank and some are really rank. :kookoo

Item 2.
I enjoy reading everyone's comments except the name calling and expletives such as: :censor:

Item 3.
Back to the subject of "WABDATH", I remember in the '70's an Indiana radio station running a contest where the second prize was a weekend, all expense payed, stay in Terre Haute.

First prize was just terrible! Can anyone remember from those days what was the 1st prize ?

Item 4.
The wife wants to put in her comment. "Everyone should keep plenty of Clabber Girl in the kitchen."

Item 5.
I think she is wise for that company does feed the racing industry since 1850.:wink

Done for now.

P.S. I don't agree with the radio station's 1st prize.

I’m not the one who comes on here and yells at everybody with every post I make. I also don’t talk down to everybody like I’m THE expert on everything and I have all the answers like you do. I know there are a LOT of fans on here that wish racing was like it used to be, me included. Difference is that they have moved on and enjoy what is on track today. You don’t see them getting on here and ******** with every post how everything sucks and it’s not run right.

You act like an a-hole, you get treated like an a-hole. I just don’t know why you have to talk down to everybody and be negative about everything. That’s not telling it like it is.

I’m not saying any more on this thread. You’re always going to be negative so that’s the way it is.
