" Ya can't f*ck up if ya just stand there and do nothing"
David, in this instance I disagree with you. Doing nothing at all is the biggest screw up possible. Doing nothing would have made the Terre Haute Action Track something you read about in history books. Put forth the effort, make mistakes, learn from them and don't repeat them. Repeating the mistakes will turn the track into a place we only remember.
By the way, Don Smith promoted the Action Track from at least as early as the 1960s and gave it up in the early 1980s. The late 1960s and 1970s were the hayday that created much of the reputation the faclity enjoys today. That was the era for Foyt, Andretti, the Unsers, Rutherford, Bettenhausen, Dickson, Beale, Carter, Bigelow, Opperman and others too numerous to mention.
Oh yeah, and some guy named Hurtubise who won five or six sprint races straight. I don't think that feat's ever been matched.

Just give them 1 chance in helll . Which is better 1 bad race or closing and losing another dirt track.
