I thought the racing was great. Heat transfers were fairly predictable, and some questionable judgement by at least one veteran driver added spice to the C/B features. How could one not enjoy Clayton's charge to the front, Jones and Stanbrough coming from the back, Cone battling oil fires and driving the :censor: out of his car (in his words), Bland/Short after a couple of rough weeks finishing 1-2? It was certainly worth a 250 mile drive and getting home at near 3 AM. Congrats to the Bland team and Tri-State!! :applaud: I have to agree with most of what was said about the black 71. He always seemed to be in the wrong spot.....but....you have to start somewhere. He might have chosen a less high profile event.

Why be offended? That's just how i saw it. Ruble got parked because the black 71 was in his way and he almost spun and darland hit him on the way by. Darland was obviously being overly cautious with ruble so as not to crash in the c main. The heats were really good...semi was decent...feature was not that exciting throughout, just like most fifty lap races there. I've seen really good and just decent races with that group. That's how it goes. Sorry it took me a while to respond - i was watching a race at winchester. via Mobile Device[/i]

Nobody raves about great Haubstadt races when they see one, more than I do. Last night was a pretty good race, as far as races in general go, but it was not one of those Haubstadt Classics that I've seen so many of. Once Daron got to the lead, nobody came close to challenging him. And then after his motor finally went, nobody was a real threat to Jeff or was Brady seriously challenged for second. Or once Messeraul avoided Hunter for the last time, was he really challenged for the third spot. So, I don't really disagree with Kirk, here. It was a good race, but not a great one. Not at the home of Instant Classic, any way.
Now that's not to say that nothing exciting happened during the feature. Watching Messeraul and Hunter ricochet off of the walls for 50 laps was fun. T-Mez, at one point, even driving on the wall, in turn 2. Wondering if Hud Cone was going to break the record for consecutive laps in a sprint car, while on fire, was interesting. And Levi did nip Hunter at the line, on the last lap.
