Lets see here I suspect that the drivers that run Midgets will be at Terre Haute. The drivers that run Sprint cars will be at Lawrenceburg. So what does that leave us plenty of drivers at the Burg and the Haute on Oct. 4th. I would guess that there will be 40 cars at Terre Haute and 45 at The Burg the same nite. You folks concerend about the TALENT must not be watching the young drivers in the sprinters right now. This group of under 20 kids is the best there is no questions about it!!!! SO stay home and mope if your worrierd about how good the racings gonna be I know its gonna be good just like all year had been!

One more thing, I really don't think this rule is keeping any racers away, No racer is going to anticipate being in the feature and have a tire go down. More times than not, if you have a tire go down and leave the track and start on the tail you are not going to win that race. There are a few that could do this, but not alot!
Take care, Dave

Agree this track rule needs to be changed. I've seen too many races their where the tire goes flat because of the lengthy red. The racing has been awesome but to lose some of the front runners and hard chargers because of a flat tire is wrong. Anyone at the burg who saw Bacon charge from the rear to finish 6th with the USAC midgets would agree that this rule needs to be changed.

Dave,
Thanks for listening and having an open mind in regards to reviewing the tire rule over the winter.
Hope you and your group can come up with some type of solution.
I appreciate you coming on here and having an open cival discussion, more times than not it seems like that it is difficult to do that here.
I do know for a fact that the rule has weighed on various teams decisions not to make the trip down.
It is not the anticipation of a tire going down in the feature, it is the opportunity to have a chance to obtain the results you were looking for, ultimately a win.
I will take a second chance anytime, to make that happen.
If you were to ask most of the fans, I think they would rather see a Schuremburg, a Stanbrough a Bland or a Bacon charging from the back of the pack after they had a flat and changed it, rather than not seeing them participate in the feature after such an incident.
P.S. dont tell a true racer he doesn't have a chance to win from the back, you might just make him mad. Some of the best races I have witnessed are when a hot shoe is in the back working their way to the front with the hope of winning.........
Thanks
