believe me, if it was a big money maker, they'd still be running it in 2009. Promoting short track racing is a tough buck to make, "especially" if you don't own the property. If any of you "starry-eyed would be promotors" out there ask me? I'll tell you to leave it sit! OK,OK so you didn't aske me! If you're crazy enough to try it, good luck! :O:

Has anyone mentioned the asking price for either buying or leasing?
Sure would hate to see another track go the way of Warsaw or Avilla
Both of those were great tracks that were killed by cities with no foresight
Warsaw sits empty at the fairgrounds and Avilla is a McDonald/B.P. station
and now also a beer distributor finally took some of the property.
Can't see how anybody make much if any money because of those decisions.....

Write or email the Gas City chamber of commerce about the benefits this jewel brings to their community. Someone just might listen and get behind the track. Wishful thinking.....

What Cecil said. I've had two promotors tell me point blank that there isn't really money to be made except special events and those are iffy because of issues of bad weather ect which in the bad case, You loose your ass.
In fact one promotor told me three of the four shows out of sixteen that he actually made money were USAC.

I think Shuman had a good idea and did a good job with the NWWC. Hopefully he and #44 can make this deal happen. Even if it didn't get too far off the ground, if it helped motivate USAC as far as the sprint series is concerned it would be worth it in my book.
