That, along with the addntl tow cost from Indy makes it too costly.

JMO and I expect to get blasted for it, but that is what I have heard.
OK but the drivers from the Burg voted for the open tire rule? Should another vote be taken? DT3 and MC3? and harder? or remain open?

I just ask because your far from the first I've seen mention it but rest assured there are a fair number ot teams that want it.

I don't have a problem with a tire rule, especially now that the track is bigger and tends to get a little slick as the evening goes on. I just hate to see american racer get squeezed out but, if you're going to have the rule, it will probably have to be the hoosier tire.

did anybody think the car counts would stay where they were when they enlarged the track. Percieved or fact some people feel the bigger tracks will be harder on equipment (more expensive).

There was a tremendous amount of discussion on that this past winter with most feeling that it would adversely affect car counts. Add in the poor economy and the number of choices teams have on Saturdays and it is no surprise that the 'Burg is suffering in car count. Generally speaking car counts are down at most tracks. But I learned a long time ago that you don't need a whole lot of cars to have good racing.

There is no doubt that the new track is harder on equipment. How many cars have you seen hit the wall coming out of turn 2 and busted up their cars. And I'm sure the larger track is harder on the motors as well. But, to sit and look at this place it is pretty awesome. Bob

I have talked to several drivers and the word is the new Burg is not that much harder on motors than any other place in the state. The thing hurting stuff is the wall but it is what it is. Concrete doesnt move like air did at the old joint. I love the new Burg Just hate concrete is all.

Kyle, the new track definitly requires more fuel (5 gallons more per night for us) and is tougher on the rubber. Quite a few modified guys have blown motors and general consensus among that crowd is, it is tougher on motors. We broke a rocker arm in the heat last Saturday but, I'm not going to say it wouldn't have happened on the old quarter mile, as well. I guess the jury may still be out on that issue but, it is more expensive to go racing this year than it was last at the Burg.

Can't speek for the racers but as a fan, The RACING both tacky and slick has been more exciting. Quite honestly three of the four shows I've seen were better than any show Id seen at ELDORA, EVER. Ive seen the so called low buget teams do well on it with a good setup and someone hanging it out on this track is just MIND BLOWINGLY AWESOME. I so look forward to Ballou doing it again this weekend! Just remember his and Stanbroughs tire problems at Sprint week were on DT'3s but that doesn't mean there wasn't other factors in it.

See you for the remaining sprint races at the Burg, Maybe Kokomo Clash but not fun fest.

Chuck
