I have been off the forum for a while, mainly to prevent coming across 2026 USAC spoilers. But as I have now caught up, I am wondering where are, or who is moderating this site. The main page has 11 topics/threads to choose from. The IOW Forum is one of them. Out of these 11 topics 7 have been hit by spammers or bots. There is Deutsche jargon and references to **** and **** sites. Multiple posts.

How did these spammers gain access to IOW? Is not anyone monitoring who is signing up? Can these individuals be eliminated from IOW now that they are here? I think if we can do the latter the site may run a little faster perhaps?

Once we resolve these issues I hope we can work out a system wherein SOMEONE is monitoring who is trying to sign up on here. Then I would like to see us move all of the ASCS posts to their own thread and get them off of the IOW Forum thread, to make way for IOW fan/member interaction that was meant to be, not sifting through posts that come like grapeshot that no one responds to nor few care about.

Good ideas (maybe) but I think we have just gotten to the point where we are happy it's still on and any post is almost a good post (not the spam ones, but whatever else...).

Looks to me like most people have given up on IOW. I really miss my morning read. Loved reading all the bantering, etc. that went on...and lots of good ideas floated around, besides the news. I don't know what happened but something has practically ruined the site. I haven't found anything to replace it yet, that I like.

You guys have been asking same questions I've been asking for over a year or two. Who owns IOW? Why can't there be some software maintenance done to speed it up? Who moderates it? I've even offered to contribute some $$$ if they would update it.

As others have stated, most of the regular contributors over the years seem to have given up. It's too bad. So many ideas and opinions have been shared. Sadly, there is now more information on Facebook and X than on IOW. Sign of the times. I'm not giving up. Thankful for the other fans that post, too.

Yea , I haven't been on IOW for quite a while cause it was getting so slow. Tonite it seems a bit faster.... is it getting better?

Yep; it's working pretty good today! I actually took the time and deleted over half of my messages (thought maybe it would help clear some space out...proly not by one person, but if everyone did it, idk...figure it can't hurt...)
