Hats off to Butler Speedway last night. New owners have really made the facility much nicer, but they ran a very efficient, 3 division program with the USAC sprint feature completed before 9pm!

Track was tough to pass on, kinda narrow groove and the dirt doesn’t really build a cushion. Grant strong early but Kyle Cummins got by a a restart and then put on a passing clinic- traffic was heavy and often side by side. Leary got it going and passed a bunch but he started out back. Both AME cars were stout, the young Reinbold was very impressive.

Really cool scene in victory lane-the legend Hank Lower who won the last USAC feature at Butler 35 years ago (winged!) was there to congratulate Kyle. Hank won countless races and championships on both dirt (early years) and pavement.

Butler is the only weekly sprint car track in Michigan (winged) with racing on Saturday night. Great crowd (I’d say the weekly crowd for the most part) really seemed to get into the non wing show, hopefully USAC come back in 2026-maybe a Michigan double header with Crystal or Mt pleasant…
