Saw this article come up on MSN today. The article clearly has the wrong track listed.
This was Friday September 12th at Jacksonville Speedway. Click on the video in the article and listen to the announcer go off, for the right reasons. Track officials missed a car that had flipped, and they kept racing. DIRTRACKR Daily mentioned it, too, but did not show the video. Crazy.
The owner of Jacksonville used to be fairly active on this board. It has been pretty quiet ever since the infield incident. I don't understand how this incident could have happened and even after several green flag laps with a car upside down they still only threw the yellow while people were running out on the track. What could the flagman possibly have been doing ? Was he having some type of medical episode ?
Jacksonville Speedway put up post on Facebook about what happened to create the situation. It is fairly long, and having never been to Jacksonville, I won’t even try to paraphrase, as I don’t know what is/isn’t significant. If you have Facebook, search Jacksonville Speedway and select it. The explanation was posted sometime around midday. To the person’s credit…they took responsibility, didn’t try to sugarcoat the screw up and has vowed to make changes so it doesn’t happen again.
