How can it be profitable to bog this forum down so bad with ads that it's all but unusable?

Admin, if you've noticed traffic here has dropped like a rock.

I don't know if this has anything to do with what you said, but this site has become AWFULLY slow for me to log onto and use. Thought part of the problem was my 12 year old computer but things are no better with my new Dell. Sometimes when I try to log on, it will time out and tells me to ask IOW administrator for a longer log in time, whatever that is. Sometimes it works decent, sometimes not.

Yes, this site is impossibly slow.

I use my phone for everything. This is the only site with a problem. In my mind it's all the ads running in the background.

Yes, it can be slow at times but I can live with it. What bothers me more is the constant flooding of the main page with ASCS posts. At least the MMSA poster keeps it in one thread.

Glad you all responded, I just changed providers in hopes it might improve, I have been unable to log in to the site for a long while

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your experience with the site's performance. I understand that latency can be frustrating.

You’re right ads can sometimes affect page load times, the latency issues experienced recently is purely the result of increased traffic from malicious or suspicious IP addresses. Unfortunately, this overwhelms the server and slows down the site. It took the better part of yesterday to identify and block those IPs.

Bill dealt with this pretty much from the inception of the site and I‘ve watched it progressively get worse year after year.

I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you’ve experienced.

Trust me when I say that if profit had anything to do with this site being active, it would have been shut down about 8-years ago!!!

She kept the site running for us to keep in touch with each other and talk Indiana racing.

Im thankful for that. Even though many have passed and some others use it a lot less.

Mega dittos on all of the above Mrs G! Certainly missed IoW the day or two earlier this week we were unable to access it.

PS - There are continued threads on Hoseheads about less traffic on that forum. It just kinda is what it is.

This site is still my go-to and I'm not even sure where you find "threads" and comments on a topic in a format like this, on the rest of the www...

Years ago, I encouraged all to drop off those other "social medias" and use sites like this more...unfortunately/sadly it doesn't appear as though that has happened...
