Our racing family is headed to the boss racing event tonight at Montpelier going to go support a track that is trying to get going again and watching some great racing events. Have fun and enjoy the weekend everyone. God bless America and go blu. Thanks.

I also went to this event, it was a long night so we left after the sprint feature but I am so glad I was there! What a great race with Lewis running down Westerfield, then Hayslett running down Lewis both up on the cushion and throwing a slider to take the lead, then watching Lewis get up on the wheel and start throwing bombs only for Hayslett to turn down and retake the lead several times.
I thought for sure Lewis would wipe him out but he never did, finally on the final restart, Lewis throws a slider into one and slightly goes over the bank, Hayslett turned down and passed him back and then going into three he tried to slide himself to protect but he didn't get back up across the track and got stuck in the slick. Meanwhile back out of two, Westerfield and Barr who had been rolling the bottom both got by Lewis so he shot down the backstretch and throws a haymaker into three where he went high again and he broke Westerfields momentum, Barr got a great run off of the bottom and went past all of this and the 1H of Hayslett as he was spinning his wheels in the middle of the track to win by about a foot at the line.

It was a great moment for a great racing family and Ryan to win his first sprint car race and victory lane was emotional as it should be. Congratulations to the Barrs!

The place was packed so that is good for Sutter and the track and I am glad for them as well, but we were stuffed in there not real comfortable. They allow stadium seats so there were many of them, We got up to get some food and drink and when we came back a dude had put his stadium seats right in front of us so he could lean back into me all night and have my knees in his back. If I were there when he came in I would have ran him off with the stadium seat but since he was established when we came back I just moved our blanket to another spot.

Between being crammed in and the 140 cars in the pits it was a long night of heat racing although some of it was very good after they rewatered. Alot of people around us had left by feature time, the sprints pushed off for their feature at 11:08.

kb78, that stadium seat story really hit home with me. I'm not opposed to them in general, just keep them in your own damn space, not overhanging 7" into the isle behind you, and then lean back in them to further eliminate any leg room for the person who also paid for their seat. I had one guy a couple of years ago at ISW tell me to spread my legs on either side of his chair so we could both be comfortable. I told him that sitting with my legs 3 feet apart for 5 hours isn't my idea of comfort, so they remained in his back for the duration of the program.

That's one of many reasons that I watch all of my racing on Flo now, but most of the other reasons are also attributable to entitled, inconsiderate people, and there is no shortage of them in the world today.

They didn't allow them and the midget week race I went to several year back. Cushions yes, not stadium seats.

Yes, I have stadium seats of my own and I agree that they are more comfortable and easier on your back, but I only use them at weekly shows, if the parking lot is full, I leave the seat and take a cushion instead.
