What a great nice of racing at Kokomo!! Around 30 Sprints...Ballou, S.Cottle, Drake, Gray, Lewis, just to name a few...around 27 Mods...Allen, Woodling, Nusbaum, Sherman, Jamison, just to name a few...around 20 Thunder Cars...Hurst, Hunter, Davis just to name a few.
Ballou starts at the back of the pack, nearly last in the Feature after running into Rylan Gray after Gray's #1 suddenly went into the turn 3 wall flipping violently during a heat race...hopefully Rylan will be okay. Ballou bounces back to win the first BMain...Feature starts and Baby Jack driving the Legendary #57 Hazen machine flips between 3 and 4. Hopefully Hoyer will be okay. The Feature restarts. Drake pulls away as S.Cottle and Ricky Lewis battle it out for p2 and p3...meanwhile Ballou is coming hot!! About 3/4 through the Feature, Drake spins out between 3 and 4...kid was basically gone with noone close. Then on the restart Ballou gets around Lewis and it was lights out from there!! Robert had the #12 absolutely moving tonight!! Great win Robert!! In the Mods it was a constant battle between the top 5 and on a later restart Nick Allen got around the #114 and went on to win the Feature. In the Thunder Cars it was all David Hurst from Green to Checkered picking up the Feature Victory on the weekend of his 50th birthday!! Track was in great condition all night and there was one heck of a crowd both in the Frontstretch and Backstretch, especially for a holiday weekend, a Sunday night, kinda cool weather, and a "regular show lineup of classes". Thank you O'Connor Family for another outstanding atmosphere and race!! Thank you all Veterans and Happy Memorial Day to all!!
