Seen this over the weekend. We all know dirt tracks are notorious for running 5 classes or more. Track I was watching instituted the rule, 22 cars or less, no heat races. They offered there standard 3 lap practice. Started the show. When it was time for the smaller classes to run their heat races, they split the field in half, and gave them another 3 lap practice. This 3 laps was there qualifying. If you brought out a caution for any reason, you start at the tail of the feature. The track had 3 classes that were under the 22 mark. While they were watering the track a kid drew the invert for all 3 classes 1 to 15. There was no planned intermission. They were adding water to the topside to help hold the cushion. Show moved along great. You always had something in front of you. The filler classes all got track time infront of the big crowd. It looked like majority of the crowd stayed almost until the end. Very efficient program.
