Does anyone know where you might be able to find old Great Lakes Outlaw Sprint Series (G.L.O.S.S.) results?

The Turn Three.com website doesn't have any but a few races. The winner and maybe the top few spots.

2025 Season - TBA

Actually, a pretty good 410 winged sprint series. I think back in the late 90s they ran for $2000 per win. Maybe for two years?

Jerry Slade was the head man there. He eventually took ill and subsequently the series ended. His younger brother was a pit crew guy in NASCAR. His first name escapes me, but I can say with 100% accuracy his last name was Slade.

My one big memory of the series was the first season finale and actually at Kokomo Speedway. 1998? Jody Hunt won the race and championship. The late Tony Elliott, was in it on a one-off and flipped end over end to finish second. I think the $2000 should have went to Tony for his Joey Chitwood imitation.

Man.... Myself, and many more, sure do miss Tony. He was one hell of a racer and one hell of a guy. In the days before LED lighting, his smile alone would light up a race track. RIP you good man. Taken WAY too early.

I can’t help you with results. High Vista Video Productions has a few G.L.O.S.S. shows archived on YouTube, however.

I only have one G.L.O.S.S. story. I “saw” one of their shows. From a distance. A big distance. Putnamville had a G.L.O.S.S. show on a Sunday afternoon in August. 1999? 2000? I was on a plane that day from St Louis to NYC. Our route took us right over I-70. Crossed into Indiana and I started looking for Putnamville. Spotted the track right away. From five miles up, it was one big, mushroom cloud of dust.

Stevensville, you jarred my always questionable memory. Jerry Slade was the guy. I knew it was someone from one of those Michigan racing families. And I do believe I remember Boston Reed winning. Thanks for the help

Not to be confused with Boston Mead who runs at Butler periodically. Reid was from Kokomo if I recall correctly. Had a quick go in the NASCAR Busch Series but it did not pan out.

In the early 2000’s, the GLOSS series brought some good winged 410 sprint car racing to Indiana. I attended several at Gas City, Montpelier, and the old Kokomo. Boston Reid, Kraig Kinser, Brandon Wimmer, Paul May, Todd Kelley, Danny Smith, Kelly Kinser, and many more ran regularly with the series. Quite a few of the non-wing racers would put on the wing and be pretty competitive when the series visited here in Indiana, and they had some good battles with Michigan locals who regularly raced with the wing at Hartford and Butler. The series later became the Mid-American Sprint Series (MASS) around 2004 and survived another year or two. Detailed results are tough to find.

Danny Smith took home a lot of money by coming up this way and picking and choosing his races. True outlaw fashion.
