Last two NW sprint races have been the fastest since year one (Different Banking) and that's as close to first year speeds as I've seen. Think there was a couple 102mph laps in the first year. But that was fast. I honestly though Brady had it on the first lap but was faster second lap. Just one of the reasons I like SINGLE car better. There were two incidents with the two car format. Westfalls crash and Cummins not making speed
Hope we got a promoter and I hope tracks somehow work together to bring the product, purses and fans what is needed. Hard to do when four or five all want to run Sat night against each other.

Charles, there are only so many nights in a weekend. Lawrenceburg has always been a Saturday night Sprint Car track. Trust me, when Ed Bennet reopened the track back in the day he unsuccessfully tried Friday nights with late models. Moved to Saturday night sprint cars and, despite the completion, he survived. When we had the track we ran a Friday night World of Outlaw event, we lost money. We also unsuccessfully tried a couple of Wednesday night late model shows - a ton of race cars and no spectators.
Obviously I dont know what the future will bring, but Im sure the burg will survive. |

Here's a 'burg thought fwiw... Bridgeport New Jersey is now similar to the burg and 305 wing sprints put on pretty good shows there... things may be different I don't know for Lawrenceburg... but there are many of those cars around here they put people in the pits put people in the stands and it's surprisingly good racing in my humble opinion...
Again this is for what it's worth I saw the old burg have only seen the new one a few times... I have no idea how National the 305 Sprint car is I go to Bridgeport for the modifieds but once again last night the 305s put on a good race... If they have already run the burg alot I don't know that just a thought maybe they could be added...

Carrol, I see exactly what your saying and I agree. But what I meant was that two run sprints this week, the other two next. Doesn't mean you can't run a show every weekend but the four and five SPRINT tracks sat nights are depleting the fields I look to what the East bay Raceway promoter said about the cost of racing and he said that hes content with closing shop soon, because it will be impossible to put on a great show with full fields even in Feb with no competition in just a few short years. That interview was at least a year ago.

Who decides whether to run single car or tandem qualifying? The promoter? Flo? USAC? Flip a coin? I hate tandem or group qualifying.

Larger tracks, qualify 2 at once and get ‘er done. I like it.
