JOHNSON CHASES DOWN USAC CRA VICTORY AT MOHAVE VALLEY

Mohave Valley, Arizona (April 1, 2023)………Chase Johnson raced to the lead on the 10th lap and led the remaining 21 laps en route to victory on Saturday night’s AMSOIL USAC CRA Sprint Car feature event at Arizona’s Mohave Valley Raceway.

Charles Davis Jr. (Buckeye, Ariz.) led the opening nine laps before Johnson made the winning move in his Josh Ford Motorsports No. 73.* For Johnson (Penngrove, Calif.), it was his fourth career USAC CRA triumph and his first in Arizona.

Series point leader Brody Roa (Garden Grove, Calif.) finished second with R.J. Johnson (Laveen, Ariz.) third, Davis fourth and Woodland Auto Display fast qualifier Cody Williams (Corona, Calif.) fifth.

Event started 2½ hours late due to a malfunction with the safety lights but a great track surface and some great racing. Awesome crowd. This place is trying hard to save a dying sport in this part of the country. Huge thanks to Ron Meyer for his efforts! And yes, Damion Gardner retired and the Alexander's sold their equipment but the car was there as the 2JT driven by Turnbull.
