The Badger Midgets were scheduled to race there last year but it rained out. I believe this will be the first midget race at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds since 1997. The facility is first rate overall. Its a classic fairgrounds with a very large old time covered grandstands. You can't beat it. The track is usually not prepared well though. They usually just put water over last weeks rubber which is disappointing. I did hear though that they got some new equipment to at least break the surface up.
Illini Racing Series midgets ran there approx 2006-ish...maybe a time or two but I know at least once.
Always looked forward to the September show in Davenport. Mostly MARA era to my memory. Was a great day when Dad would pick me up from school with the midget race car on an open trailer and we were headed to the track! The Vintage cars under the grandstands were very cool too!
