Just picked this up early to mid 80s Oz lee osborne chassis was told that Jack Hewitt possibly drove it and then was told by someone else most likely not because of his deal with Hampshire. Underneath the hood is a light blue color not sure if that was the original color or not. This is all I know about it brand new to owning a sprint I have a 1937 chevy coupe body 1950s built car and wanted to try this. Any info at all is helpful

Hewitt picked up a lot of different rides in different places during the early 80's. He didn't hook up full time with Hampshire until the 86 season, I believe.
However, some of the other rides he had (Aristocrat/Vance, Dick Briscoe) weren't Osborne chassis either.
Best plan is to trace the chassis back. Beebs got it from _____________ who got it from ____________. The thrill of the hunt may not get you back to Hewitt but it's worth the effort.
Can you say where you got the car? What state, area. In the 80's, a lot of the cars that ran SOD, Butler were OZ cars. If I was going try and win the lottery in car finds. Jeff Gordon race OZ cars in the beginning of his dirt sprint cars. That would be a fun car to find.
Got it from Dayton ohio area. 2 owners before me was a guy who taught auto body at a career center and this was a restoration project and then was traded to the guy I got it from and now I have it
