The USAC schedule still has 'to be announced' for the first night of Sprint Week.

Jerry Gappens said on a local radio show yesterday that the schedule is still being finalized. He will be attending the RPM Promoters workshop in Daytona next week to try to finalize the schedule and release it the following week.

He mentioned an April 20 Grand Opening and non-wing sprint cars will be the anchor class this season. He hopes to host sprint/midget/D2 doubleheaders once a month. Other support divisions he's looking at, on a rotating basis, includes UMP Modifieds, Kenyon Series Midgets, Thunder Cars, Mini-Sprints, Mod Lites, Hornets, FWD Compacts, etc. He also mentioned one non-wing and winged Sprint Car doubleheader on June 8.

For getting a late start, things seem to be coming together.

Should be another USAC sprint race in addition to Sprintweek. Their unofficial rule has been you don't get a Sprintweek date unless you have a regular season USAC race. That is what other tracks asking for Sprintweek dates are told. See if it stays consistent and we can get 2 shows there! Hope so.

Once he gets a Facebook page going it will be a bit easier for us to see what's going on and what plans are instead of just getting on this thread on IOW.
