"Quitting smoking is easy, I've done it hundreds of times." -Mark Twain
Many years ago my mother caught a bad cold, so bad she didn't feel like smoking for a couple of days. She decided that since she had a start she would try to quit smoking. It worked. She never touched another cigarette the rest of her life although I'm sure she had some tough days. It can be done.
Hope you are feeling better. Stay strong and take the no smoking one day at a time. You can do it, I know you can.

Take care of yourself Charles, you've got all winter to get better, just think of the money you'll save by not smoking and you'll be feeling better so you can attend some more races next season!

I was pretty convinced that after two days in the hospital. All the effects of Chemical dependence were gone and over. The honest truth, I couldn't inhale a single puff of smoke for 24hrs before going to the Urgent care and then the Emergency room. So I was basically a day free going in.
The thing now is doing something different every time I get the urge, A drink of water, A jolly roger, a stick of gum. A dum dum pop. I destroyed every bit of tobacco I had access too the moment I got home. Except for two cigarettes. Those two cigs remain untouched and it's my third day home.
