I don't think the sale has anything to do with changing the track. They are putting family first with their son's health issues. The Dibbles are great people who always put their fans and drivers first.
I definetly loved the 1/2 mile. I would disagree that it's a cookie cutter 3/8ths though. It's wide and still very fast. I feel the owners had no choice in shortening the track. Cars just weren't supporting the 1/2 mile whether it was local shows or specials.
Good thing. Someone asked if the track would be operating next year if it is not sold and they responded saying yes. Hopefully, they can find an owner that cares as much about Hartford and their fans as the Dibbles have over the years.
I've been going to Hartford Motor Speedway sense the 70's. This place has always struggled to keep a promoter around for more than 4-5 years. Tim has done a marvelous job with the track, making it smaller was 100% the right choice. Pull out your speedway directory there just isn't very many 1/2 miles that run a weekly program. The crowds are solid at this track, open cooler policy helps a ton. All the best for The Dibbles and Hartford.

Agree 100%, Rich. I just wish I could make it there more often. But between working weekends some times and chasing a touring series here or there..... All the best.
