I can't remember if USAC used to do this or not. I know NAMARS
did it and the fans loved it. Take all the cars that are in the "A"
feature and line them up on the front straightaway in the order
they are starting. Then introduce each driver starting at the back
of the field. This way the fans get a chance to see the driver and the car
they are driving up close. This is good for the fans and I would hope the
drivers would enjoy this also.

MSCS did this at Terre Haute this year. It was great.... I think it should be done everywhere!

When I was a kid they did driver intros at every race track before all sprint features it was awesome JMO. I think it needs to come back the fans have no idea what the drivers look like or how old they are it may surprise some of them.

How about we get USAC to listen to the fans about what we want.

That would be the best thing possible.

Good luck with that!

Actually I think a few listen.... but USAC has their own agenda.

They did it at Ft. Wayne as well. I like driver intros, especially for special shows. My brother initiated a 'USAC needs to promote their drivers' conversation outta the blue in the truck the other day. It was pretty funny, because he basically said what everyone on here says in those threads. He even made the comment, "...since I've been to a lot of the races and I know who's in the cars and all, even a less than stellar race is exciting to go to"

They always did that when I was kid going to NCRA races. Something I always looked forward too.

Fellas... USAC does do driver intros... I know... I do them. Most of the time its with drivers at least on the front stretch (so fans can see who they are and what they look like) usually next to their cars or if track work is being conducted then the cars remain on pit lane. And 9 times out of 10 the starting lineup is read from back to front.

When we were in Rockford, IL with the midgets, I thought it would be cool to have the drivers just walk up and sit in the stands next to the fans prior to intros. They did... sitting all over the main grandstands... their name was announced... and they stood up... waved and walked to their car on the front stretch. It worked out pretty cool.

The one thing that did not get brought up is that of the "time factor." USAC gets ridiculed constantly for getting over late. This year the A Feature has been over on average prior to 1030pm, which people like. Intros are a bit time consuming and sometimes when we are behind or have the threat of weather (which seems to be almost every event this year) we have to bag intros. We actually ditched the 4 wide at Knoxville because weather was approaching fast.

So believe me... USAC is listening to the fans and trying to present an efficient, exciting show each and every night.

Now take a moment and check out the new USACRacing.com and find something else to complain about.

C y'all at RIR or IN Sprint Week!
