Waited until I couldn't wait any longer to go. Weather and radar still looked threatening but went anyway. Storm was off to our north all the way to Paragon but never rained a drop on us. 53's dominance was a given, truly the King of Indiana Sprints, but Hockett's run was worth the price of admission. Gave that 71 a ride. Other good runs by Cummins, Cone, Sisco, and Hunter. I thought the crowd was decent. With 150 or so cars in the pits and $30 pit passes, they could probably break even if no spectators were on the hill. I don't know that, just guessing. I saw one sprinter come in at the middle of the program, run a few laps in the C main and load back up. Pretty expensive night for them. Glad we went. Good show!!:thumb

By far, Hockett was the best part of the show. Coming from the C to finish 5th was pretty remarkable. He was the only car that could run the top and pass cars consistently. I think I watched him more than the lead cars in the A. He would have been a threat for the win if he hadn't started back so far.

And the top was a tough place to make a living, the other night. Especially in 3 and 4. Each time Jesse went up there, he was doing so at his own peril. But, I can name very few racers that I've ever seen, that each and every race, try harder to win than does Jesse Hockett.
Throughout the years, Paragon Speedway is the site of many of the sports epic battles and great performances. Runs like Jesse's and seeing Jon on that track the other night, bring back memories of the track's heyday and some of the great things that I've been lucky enough to see there.

I think Kyle Cummins ( thats CUMMINS coachmeece!!HaHa) ran a fantastic race. He was literally the only one on the top and made it work for nearly the entire race. He started 8th and went to 2nd by lap 15. No doubt Jon was on his game as all ways, but Kyle did a great job of staying with him after the yellow/reds. GOOD JOB KYLE!!
