Just saw this myself. Good luck to Casey, our fellow IOWer and Jerry. Awesome news.

Unfortunately, the current promoter uses heavy equipment to pack the track hard, taking a lot of the action out of the Action Track. And several promoters ago brought in new dirt that is more powdery and dries out faster. And, Indiana switched to Eastern time making it basically a day race with only the feature at night. What you have now is a more tame version of what some of us got to experience pre-1999 but it's better than staying home and usually the race is good so by all means go and have fun!!

The actual forecast is good for a change, but it is Terre Haute so a good forecast does not preclude precipitation. Getting ready to hop in the car and head south. Hopefully we get a wonderful night of racing. As always I'll be the cat in the red wings hat, hope to see you there

I've been to this track more and know more about this track than you ever will and just last year, the classic battle between Chris Windom and Chad Boespflug was one of the better races I can EVER remember seeing there. And just a few years before that, at the first Don Smith Classic, a duel between Robert Ballou and Jesse Hockett was a historic one. Both well after 1999. But, I'm just a race fan, not a noted track prep critic, like you.

I'll be the guy in the BC hat and Saldana/stenhouse wood shirt with the wife that's out of my league. I'll look for the red wings hat!

Just saw they lowered pit pass prices for us non members back to the usual 30. If I go that route with a pit pass am I safe assuming I can go in the infield or grandstands too?

It's race day, it's a beautiful summer day here in Terre Haute and we have a group of drivers that have been racing one another real hard, this year. Will CJ Leary and Donnie Gentry once again rule that day or will someone else step up and stop their momentum?

Yes, K, the pit pass gets you in the stands and infield. Having lunch, will be there soon, hope to meet you
