Before I was fired from Hartford they were talking about scaling back the number of sprint races to be able to have more time to focus on their son who is battling leukemia.
Last year SOD was pissed off because they weren't involved with the "King of Michigan" deal (All-Stars, GLSS, & Non-Win MTS). Well SOD thinks they have the naming rights to "King of Michigan" and was not going to "allow" Hartford to continue the use of the name. So I'm guessing Naida @ SOD brought some sponsor dollars to the table which is their 4 race series and insinuated to Hartford he expected some loyalty which booted GLSS. Both GLSS & SOD are a $9500 purse so it isn't like either organisation is costing the track more (unlike All-Stars that cost more and more every year...). |

Barry Marlow, owner of GLSS and Ron Hammond, the new owner of the NRA Sprint Invaders have taken great steps to strengthen 360 racing in the Tri-State area. This year all regular GLSS races will again be $1,750.00 to win with a total purse of $11,100.00 and this year all regular NRA races will pay $1,650.00 to win with a total purse of $11,100.00. Another change this season will be both series will be racing on the Hoosier MED RR tire. Bummed to hear you are not with Hartford anymore as you always did a fine job promoting them. |

I got to meet Barry and work with GLSS last year and they went through some growing pains, but they are great great people there who want to do whatever it takes to makes things work. They communicate very well on race day which is huge in making a show go off smoothly. |

I don't think we should compare the cost of ASCOC to SOD or GLSS. Not the same league. No disrespect to any of these sanctions

Nobody was? I said the cost cost ASCOC continued to increase while SOD & GLSS are a much more affordable option. $38k for ASCOC vs $9500 for a local track. The "administrative cost" of ASCOC would pay for a SOD or GLSS show and in Michigan SOD will usually have more people than either of the other 2 options in stand alone events. So for a track the return per ticket is more appealing to have a GLSS or SOD event. You're right they are apples to oranges and should not be compared, but I still don't see where anyone was comparing the cost.

Living in west Michigan, if I am going to take a 4-5 hour car ride to see a sprint car race. That is how long it would take to travel to the GLSS races in Ohio. I am going to travel to Indiana tracks and watch some non wing races or BOSS shows.
