For those of you coming from the north to Bloomington, southbound 37 was partially washed out. There is a 2-300 foot section of road in which the shoulder is missing and half of one lane. one lane is open and the northbound lanes were not affected. I went through there today about 330 pm and had no traffic problems. Martinsville is a mess, strong fishy/moldy smell, homes, restaurants, gas stations all along 37 were under water. Feel bad for those people that are going through that. Most of the businesses were closed. Dumpsters sitting around everywhere full of carpet and belongings. One of those big ice chests that you see at gas stations was sitting about 10 feet off the road on the shoulder of 37.

[QUOTE=Dannypollock24;46330]231 to spencer 46 to Ellettsville to 37 is clear.

So dirttracklady's post #8 which shows 231 closed between 57 & 67 is no longer correct:confused: However, if the forecasters are right it's a moot point anyway.

A link to the states road closure map. The zoom feature is really handy and it does give the time that the next update will occur. A good rule of thumb: Avoid the White River or Hwy 46, if possible, at all costs.

Well as far as I know its open, west of Spencer is closed on 46 but 231 to 46 to go to Bloomington is east then turns south to Ellettsville to 37.

Just depends where on 231 between 57 and 67 thats quite a long strech as long as it is clear from Carp on 231 to Spencer you are good.

I'm not going to say she is incorrect but I did travel down some roads that she posted were closed and they were open.

I just hope they are wrong as they are most of the time on where the rain will fall if it does let it go up to Gas City no sprints there this friday LOL sorry mod ,street stock and bomber guys,LOL

Who knows?

You could say the same about much of Columbus, the part that is closest to the rivers. Shucks, we only have 5 rivers that flow into or near this town.

GPS is always trying to send me 40 East and 231 South to 46 but I go 59 South and 46 East to 37. I go to Paragon 40,231, 67 but I haven't been south on 231 between 67 and Spencer for a long time. I know the White runs almost parallel to 231 in that area and the roads would be pretty vulnerable. If the weather looks promising Friday, I'll check closer before leaving home. Thanks

Yep. Just a wet carpet on the lower of 3 levels. The water-vac, fans, and a tiny space heater took care of it, though parts are still damp. I'm not near any of the rivers, but live near the bottom of a hill.

My mom's place was wiped out, so she is staying with us for awhile. But I think she has herself an apartment north of town, soon as there is an opening.

Thanks for asking, DC. As you know, lots of people here are in bad shape.
