8/20/16 8:22 AM SPRINGFIELD'S "BETTENHAUSEN 100" RAINED OUT
http://usacracing.com/news/silver-cr...100-rained-out * SPRINGFIELD'S "BETTENHAUSEN 100" RAINED OUT Springfield, IL........Extremely wet grounds following early-week flooding, compounded by heavy rains Saturday morning and additional expected rain Saturday afternoon, have conspired to force cancellation of the "Bettenhausen 100" USAC Silver Crown Championship race at the Illinois State Fairgrounds. Race organizer Bob Sargent and USAC officials are reviewing options for a possible rain date. Please stay tuned for that announcement. A total of 37 cars were pre-entered for the race. The series now prepares for the September 3 "Ted Horn 100" at the DuQuoin (Ill.) State Fairgrounds. * |

Sunny and windy now at 8:47. Coulda got it in but hope they reschedule. Might have had a fun track today. Forecast looks fine the rest of the day according to the latest weather.

We are on the fairgrounds and it hasn't rained a drop since just before 7:30 AM. Sunny and breezy since 9:30 AM. Don't know if the powers that be who run the fairgrounds had a hand in this decision but it sure looks as if the plug was pulled a bit too hastily.
But we shouldn't be surprised, we've all seen it happen here at Springfield before.
