Pit

Didn't do too good did he, even with one of the best open wheel dirt drivers as a tutor. Looked a whole lot like a NASCAR racer trying to negotiate the place.

In fact a long long time ago promoters would encourage fans to bring their street cars on the track and race one another. I actually saw several brand new cars wrecked while trying to beat their competitor.

Guess the insurance companys took care of that. Back in those days people just took their licks and went on about their business.

I think it's pretty cool. A great way of exposing one of the best dirt tracks in the country and one of the most versatile drivers in the country to those who would likely never take a look at short track racing. To me it it is a couple of guys that get together and what if we.......or here hold my beer and watch this.

Spectator races were awesome! Remember racing with the All Stars and watching them after the races from the top of the trailer making $1 bets.

Lastly, wish they would bring back more of the ride swaps like Gordon and Juan Pablo

I agree. Most super car videos are on a closed road course or abandoned air strip. Pretty neat to see that changed up. Hopefully even the novice car lovers that heard the stats comparing the 3000 lb/ 500 hp McClaren to the 1200 lb./ 900hp Sprint Car thought "wait... What did he just say? How many?" One more reference tool to explain those dune buggy looking things.

Anybody remember the chick in the 70ish Nova catching fire at Kokomo back in the Lipke days?
